Pretend to drive fire trucks together.
- Bring out the vehicles peg puzzle and invite the children to help you find the fire truck. Upon finding the fire truck, make fire truck sounds together.
- Briefly discuss the role of firefighters within your community. Have the children ever seen a fire truck?
- Have each child hold their steering wheel from the My Steering Wheel project (see Related Activities). Pretend it is a fire truck steering wheel.
- Sing the song "Hurry, Hurry, Drive the Fire Truck." Encourage the children to move their steering wheel and do the actions with you.
