(More...)You Will Need: - playdough
- trays
- lightweight balls (e.g. ping-pong)
- straws
Give each child a clump of playdough. Demonstrate how to roll the playdough into long ropes. Then, show how to arrange the playdough ropes on the table or a tray in a spiral pattern, leaving a path that is about 2" wide. Gently press the playdough to the table or tray to make sure it stays in place.
Distribute lightweight balls and straws. Have children place the ball at the opening of the spiral. They will use the straw to blow the ball through the spiral maze. The goal is to move the ball all the way to the center of the maze. Allow children to play until interest fades, adjusting the maze shape as desired. Encourage them to try their friends' mazes as well!
