"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
I felt this devotional was very timely for me. As we all struggle with trying to accomplish so much each day, I was reminded of the benefits of slowing down.
You will not leave in haste. Isaiah 52:12
I do not believe we have even begun to understand the wonderful power there is in being still. We are in such a hurry, always doing, that we are in danger of not allowing God the opportunity to work.
You may be sure that God will never say to us, "Stand still," "Sit still", or "Be still", unless He is going to do something. This is our problem regarding the Christian life; we want to do something to be Christians, instead of allowing Him to work in us. Think of how still you stand when your picture is being taken, as the photographer captures your likeness on film. God has one eternal purpose for us: that we should be "conformed to the likeness of His Son" (Romans 8:29)
But in order for that to happen, we must stand still. We hear so much today about being active, but maybe we need to learn what it means to be quiet.
Sit still, my children! Just sit calmly still! Nor deem these days-these waiting day-as ill!The One who loves you best, who plans your way, has not forgotten your great need today! And, if He waits, it's sure He waits to prove to you, His tender child, His heart's deep love.
Sit still, my children! Just sit calmly still! You greatly long to know your dear Lord's will! While anxious thoughts would almost steal their way - Corrodingly within, because of His delay - Persuade yourself in simple faith to rest - that He, who knows and loves, will do the best.
Sit still, my children! Just sit calmly still! Nor move one step, not even one, until His way has opened. Then, ah then, how sweet!
How glad your heart, and then how swift your feet, Your inner being then, ah then, how strong! And waiting days not counted then too long.
Sit still, my daughter! Just sit calmly still! What higher service could you for Him fill? It's hard! ah yes! But choicest things must cost! For lack of losing all how much is lost! It's hard, it's true! But then - He gives you grace to count the hardest spot the sweetest place. Streams in the Desert
As we are only a few months away from May, and this info was in your Parent Info Packet, that you received in August(wink, wink)...we thought we would refresh your memory on the date of the K-4 Graduation. It's Friday, May 25th at 2:30 pm. This is a very important day for your little one. Shortly, both K-4 classes will begin weekly practice time in preparation for the BIG DAY! On that day, we will come together for a musical program, distribution of diplomas and a sweet time of fellowship.
As stated on the January 15th, Kitten Weekly Wall, Fridays will be our day for Showing and Sharing. Your Kitten may bring ONE item from home that is special to them. They will have a couple of minutes to tell their friends why it means so much to them and allow a hands on moment for their friends if they wish. Each student will have a turn if they bring an item. This privilege will only be on FRIDAY.
What a wonderful time we had on Valentine's Day. It was full of laughter, smiles, caring, games, food, treats, sweet goodies and our usual amount of learning, exploring and growing.
It was a blessing to be able to enjoy the celebration all day rather than just for a 20 minute "PARTY" time after nap.
This week the Kitten class will explore the following...Letter Zz, Number Houses through 60 and begin our theme on Opposites Attract.
We are also increasing the amount of words we write each day and beginning to focus on sentence structure and punctuation.
The Bible Focus for February can be found in the Gospel of Mark, Chapter 10, Verses 13-16
Weekly Bible Memory Verses...Zion heard and was glad. Psalm 97:8
Name of God - Zealous...The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7
Remember...there is a Prayer Request Box on top of the Brown Coat Cubby. It would be our privilege to lift up your concerns.
